09:00 – 09:30 Meeting at Tbilisi city centre. Drive to Natakhtari Airdrome.

10:00 – 11:00 Flight to Borjomi. Arrival.

11:00 – 13:00 Excursion. Short walk in Borjomi.

13:00 – 14:00 Lunch in Borjomi at the restaurant.

14:00 – 15:00 Flight to Vardzia.

15:00 – 19:00 Excursion & walk in Vardzia.

19:00 – 20:00 Flight back to Natakhtari.

20:00 – 20:30 Arrival in Natakhtari Airdrome. Drive to Tbilisi.

Detailed Description of the Tour:

Early in the morning we meet at the Tbilisi city centre and drive to Natakhtari Airdrome to take a flight (app. 1h.) towards Borjomi region and Vardzia Cave town.

Thanks to its temperate climate, forested mountain scenery and famous mineral waters, this is the most popular balneological resort of Georgia. Borjomi is located in the southeastern part of Georgia, in the Mtkvari river gorge, at between 810-850 meters above sea level.

In Borjomi we will have an opportunity to take a short walk in Borjomi National Park and taste famous Borjomi mineral water. After the lunch in Borjomi we head towards Vardzia Cave-monastery (submitted on the Tentative List for inscription on the World Heritage List by UNESCO). Vardzia in the Meskheti province of southern Georgia - is a thirteen story cave town built between 1186-9 by Georgia’s famous Queen Tamara. This Medieval cave city is not only one of the highlights of any trip to Georgia, but also cultural symbol as a unique example of the Georgian renaissance.

In the second half of the day we will fly back to Natakhtari Airdrome and drive to Tbilisi city centre. End of the tour.

  • Comfortable sedan type/ 4WD vehicle to drive us in the area of Borjomi.
