Vanilla holidays

A Brazilian holiday instantly brings to mind beaches, bikinis, carnivals and samba, but also offers much, much more.

A holiday in Brazil with Vnailla Sky takes in all the colour and spectacle that makes this country unique.

Rio de Janeiro is one of the liveliest and most beautiful cities in the world with breathtaking views from Sugarloaf Mountain. Ipanema and Copacabana beaches may be on everyone's fantasy list, but there are many others along the coastline that are well worth a visit during your luxury holiday in Brazil. On the northern coast, the towns of Ilheus, Natal and Salvador da Bahia come complete with pristine golden beaches, while south of Rio there are more than a hundred beaches edging the Atlantic rainforest - it is easy to see why honeymoons in Brazil are so special. A

s well as the buzzing modern cities, your Brazil holiday can take in the colourful 16th Century Portuguese colonial towns of historical interest. From the diamond and gold mining towns of Minas Gerais, to the slave trade ports of the State of Bahia, Brazil's colourful past is clearly evident in its diverse culture, fine colonial buildings and friendly people.

Brazil is also one of the greatest eco-destinations on earth. The Amazon is not only the world's longest river, but its basin covers almost half of Brazil. Further south, on the borders of Paraguay and Bolivia is the Pantanal - the world's largest wetland area. Here your holiday in Brazil can provide glimpses of caiman, capybara, jaguar and anacondas, together with brightly coloured parrots and the hyacinth macaw. On the borders of Brazil and Argentina, hear the thunderous roar of Iguaçu Falls. Walk above them on specially constructed boardwalks or take a boat to one of the lakes to see them in their full magnificence.
