Almost all climatic zones existing in the world from humid subtropical to the eternal snow and icy peaks are represented in the comparatively small territory of Georgia. Georgia's location between humid Mediterranean and dry continental Arab-Caspian areas influences its climate. A humid sub-tropical climate dominates in Western Georgia, while in Eastern Georgia there is a transition from sub-tropical to temperate climate.

Georgia should be a hot country but is kept cool by the Great Caucasus Range. Summers are quite cool except August, when temperature can hit 40 Degrees Celsius. Winters are usually mild, but sometimes temperature can go well beyond 0 Degrees Celsius. So if you visit Georgia in summer take light clothes with you, but if you come in winter be well prepared for cold and sometimes even freezing weather. But the most popular times to visit are spring and autumn, both for colors and balmy temperatures.
